Reimagined 14k Signet with 16th Century Symbol

Signet rings have a storied history, dating back to ancient Mesopotamia around 3500 BCE. Initially used as functional seals to authenticate documents and letters, they later evolved into symbols of power, status, and family lineage.

I always love finding signet rings because there are so many styles! They continue to be enduringly cherished by collectors and jewelry enthusiasts.

This was an unadorned vintage ring in a sleek east-west oval shape. Now customized with hand engraving- a hand holding a heart, inspired by a Dutch bookmaker's watermark from 1578, discovered in a special book on ancient and antique symbols and stamps.
